As early as more than 2 million years ago, the Yangtze River basin was home to the earliest known human beings in China. They drank the blood of shavings, made fires by drilling wood, and left footprints of staggering and trudging along the Yangtze River, forming a complete lineage of human evolution. The Yangtze River basin is one of the main regions of ancient human and cultural evolution in China.
Here, our ancestors cultivated rice, invented the most ancient boat, salt mining technology is renowned at home and abroad, and the jade stone culture, bronze culture, brilliant urban civilization. They laid a solid foundation for the birth and development of the Chinese civilization.
Yangtze River is the mother river of Chinese nation. It has nurtured colorful culture of the Yangtze River, created the splendid civilization of Yangtze River, and made outstanding contributions to the Chinese and the world’s civilization.
