Africa Joint Pavilion is the largest one in the world expo, as one of the recommended supplier in Shanghai World Expo, Space Idea takes over the planning, design, construction, operation and management of the five African countries' pavilions, including the main exhibition area of the united African pavilion, the public area, the pavilion of the republic of the Congo, the pavilion of the republic of Gabon, the pavilion of Cameroon, the pavilion of the central African republic, and the pavilion of Chad.
The theme of the Africa Joint Pavilion is the origin of human civilization. Centering on this theme, Space Idea deeply explores and makes full use of the elements with strong African features to create the plain and warm atmosphere of the pavilion, and perfectly interprets the ancient and vibrant African continent. With a strong and bouncing color, it presents the unique concepts and unique exhibits of various countries, interprets various African themes and profound cultural deposits, and displays the colorful, charming and harmonious overall African image. It is a combination of vision, taste, touch, hearing and movement. It shows a true Africa to people all over the world and enables more people to understand and love Africa.
The African Joint Pavilion is located in the expo site with more than 10,000 steel structures. The design of the facade of the pavilion has strong African elements and features: lush African trees, deserts, unique animals and buildings outline the natural and diverse features of the African continent, symbolizing the ancient and vibrant African continent. In addition to 42 separate pavilions, the The African Joint Pavilion also has a public exhibition area consisting of a public stage, a reality show and a special exhibition area. The design of space color, pattern and function, as well as the selection of interactive projects and exhibition contents, integrates the features of each participating country, presents unique African features to everyone, and feels the charm of the smiling coast of Africa.
Walking into the African Joint Pavilion, a large group of human faces “African smiles” is reflected. The inspiration is from 3.2-million-year-old hominids fossils found in Ethiopia. Through the form of multi-media, the common mother of human beings “Lucy” gradually transferred from the face of the ancient ape man to the smile of modern man, giving a strong visual impact, very touching, and adding a strong humanistic atmosphere. Looking around, the deep blue of the sea, the vast green of the primeval forest and the yellow of the desert under the direct sun, the three-color painted floor take visitors back to Africa, the ancient birthplace of humanity.
As a large pavilion with 43 African countries and one international organization (the African Union) to be displayed in the African Joint Pavilion, visitors are scattered in the pavilions as soon as they enter the pavilion with a reasonable layout and no crowding. The African pavilions are arranged in sequence, each feeling simple, fluent and unadorned. Although they cover a small area, they have a profound historical and modern sense. You can appreciate the essence of African cultures if you look at them carefully.
The whole African Joint Pavilion is free from showy high technology, luxury and towering facilities, and splendid decoration; instead, it’s plain and warm. The African Joint Pavilion makes full use of the platform of the World Expo. During the expo, pavilions of the African Joint Pavilion will be in full bloom, giving us an impressive feast.
